Supporting Adolescents

How I can support adolescents in their quest to become independent young adults and productive citizens?

In order to support adolescents to become adults throughout high school, you need to provide the resources for them to succeed. Seriously. I mean, sure there are other things, like having them explore career options while still a freshman (and then throughout), but ultimately it comes down to sharing resources to your students. Letting them know that you care about their aspirations and goals just as much as they do means a lot to that student. At least, I know it did for me. Some students may know what they want to do after high school, and their parents will want them to do the opposite and won’t be supportive. This is all the more reason to provide resources to the student in order for them to gauge an understanding on where they want to go and be and give them connections. This was a shorter post, but it’s definitely super important to know and to understand.
